The Prime Minister's announcement to change the age of Super entitlement 20 years from now is an effort to look responsible, while doing absolutely nothing at the same time. The only good news from his announcement is that he's finally listened to New Zealand First. We've been calling for fairer residency qualification. Taking it up to 20 years is five years short of what would be fair. What Mr English has failed to tell the public is the content of his discussions with both Treasury and his colleagues on this matter. The only safeguard superannuitants of this country have left is New Zealand First.

"Dear KidsCan Money is tight for many of our families, and while we waive school fees and donations, it would be impossible for the school alone to feed and clothe our children, even though there is a need for this help. With KidsCan’s support, no child ever goes hungry at Tui Glen School. Attendance has improved over the past three years due to the school being able to provide morning tea and lunch for children when there may be no food in the home. Families used to keep their children at home when there was no food to send them to school with. Now, all children arrive at school on Monday, and feel safe enough to use our class food kits to help keep them energised throughout the day." - Tui Glen School
