Happy Interior Blog recently explored Wellington and decided it was his favourite NZ city to visit: "it is so vibrant, beautifully located in a bay surrounded by mountains and offers all amenities of a city in walking distances". Check out the blog for some excellent tips on what to do in Wellington with some beautiful images to boot:
"I'll shit on the belt, fuck the belt. I know I'm the best!" Somebody call the police, them done rob me at #Glory37!! But I'd probably get shot by them police anyway 😂...I still make bad jokes. Man I gotta say the support I've gotten from NZ and worldwide really tripped me out, I am not able to get to the hundreds of messages but just know I appreciate the love and all of you throwing your hands up for that spirit bomb! I watched the fight again, leg kicks are supposed to slow your movement down I thought...but I was still able to be nimble and box his brains all night long! I am not heart broken, do not throw sympathy my way. I don't depend on the belt for my happiness...I am just getting waves of disappointment cuz I put my all into it and I hate eating my words! But the negative feels will be channeld to something possitive and I will grow from this like a true champion 👑

Groundsman, Brendan Eathorne (Ox), is pretty sure he has the best job, in the best stadium in the world. This clip shows Forsyth Barr Stadium from the unique perspective of someone who knows it from the ground up.
It was my absolute pleasure this morning to announce I will be nominating Jacinda Ardern to be Labour's Deputy Leader as we head into September’s election.
The breadth of Jacinda’s qualities are equalled only by their depth.
She has a fierce intellect and is a political heavyweight who doggedly holds to account her counterparts in the House, and who knows her brief as well as anyone.
She’s a committed campaigner. Not just for Labour, or Auckland, but for the entire country: she has strived tirelessly for groups as diverse as children in poverty, whose parents struggle to feed them, to small and medium sized businesses struggling to make ends meet.
But perhaps most impressive is her ability to make politics accessible, and engaging. At a time when many talk of political apathy rising, and we look around the world to the US and Europe, where reactionary politics dominates, Jacinda - perhaps more than any other MP across the House - sparks a light in people and encourages unity.
For evidence of this, we just need to look at last Saturday’s Mount Albert result. Exactly 10,000 people turned out to vote for Jacinda, in a by-election just seven months before a General Election, when the governing party failed to stand a candidate. She won the seat with 77% of the vote. That’s a phenomenal result which shows that people will vote for her, regardless of their historic party allegiance.
But the reason I have made my decision to nominate Jacinda today is because of what she will bring to the country this year as we head to the next election. She unites people behind a common cause: one of hope, and of a better future. She believes in the power of politics to change lives for the better. That’s a belief and message I want front and centre during this campaign.
Jacinda also embodies that future herself: not just within Labour and our movement, but also within the country at large. Jacinda will be a central part of the next government of New Zealand. Before that, she’ll play a leading role in the campaign to change the government.
Of course, I must give credit to the person who has made this all possible. Without Annette by my side over the last two years, we wouldn’t be in the position we are now. There is no doubt in my mind: it's because of her counsel and wisdom as my Deputy that we are in the position as a caucus and Party to win the election in September.
Annette has one of the greatest political minds I have ever engaged with. She is one of the hardest-working, most driven people I’ve had the honour to meet. She will remain a great friend and confidant.
As ever, the grace and selflessness which Annette has shown in passing the Deputy Leadership baton on speaks volumes about her values and attributes as a person. I thank Annette for everything she’s done for our country over more than 30 years of service.

The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) contingent joined the Australian Defence Force and French military personnel in the early hours of the morning for their final rehearsal on the Champs-Élysèes in Paris.
At an earlier rehearsal, the Military Governor of Paris, General Le Ray, reviewed the rehearsal parade and hosted a traditional French breakfast of croissants and coffee in the Place de la Concorde. General Le Ray welcomed the Australian and New Zealand contingents noting our enduring relationship with France, especially in this year of the centenary commemorations of the Battle of the Somme.
More than 3000 military personnel, 212 vehicles, 241 mounted Republican Guards, 55 planes and 30 helicopters will take part in the 14 July parade.
Regimental colours and banners representing New Zealand units that served in the First World War will be paraded by 86 NZDF personnel on the Champs-Élysèes during the parade – the first time these flags have been paraded together outside of New Zealand.
