GET THIS! Nick Smith and the Govt says it will make 90% of rivers swimmable, not by stopping pollution or cleaning them up, but by changing the definition of swimmable! They've just doubled the amount of faecal contamination allowed in their 'swimmable' standard.

No big deal but omfg my album is Number 1 on the NZ music charts and Number 4 in the top 40 charts. Wtf?
It's because of all you incredibly awesome parents out there wanting and needing my songs for your Tamariki. I'm really trying not to swear but thank fuck for you! Thank you from the bottom of my very tired but happy heart.
Congratulations to the NZ Police dog handlers who've beaten the competition in Melbourne to retain the Australasian police trials trophy.
They had their first sniff of success when Snr Con Dave Robison and Isaac, from Whakatane, triumphed in the individual patrol dog category, with Snr Con Owen Davies and Quid, from Auckland, coming in second.
And it didn't stop there. Dave and Isaac also took out the top tracking award while Owen and Quid went on to win the top searching award.
Together, their successes meant New Zealand Police retained the team trophy for another year. Great work guys and dogs! #dogswithjobs

There’s a tidal wave of cash coming into New Zealand from wealthy migrants buying their way into our country. We make it so easy for them. All they have to do is front up with $10 million. In three years they have permanent residency. Their numbers are rising. Trouble is the money is not working for NZ. It’s not going into businesses to boost productivity and jobs. Most is going into government and corporate bonds. Wealthy migrants are using us as a bolt-hole. It’s nothing more than residency queue jumping for the wealthy at the expense of New Zealanders.
Record immigration for years has put a huge strain on NZ and all our services, like hospitals, and infrastructure like roads. The number of immigrants settling in Auckland each year equals the population of New Plymouth – that’s just artificially inflating a problem we already had. To recover from this is going to be a massive cost to Kiwi taxpayers for years to come.
