Something special on the big screen...thanks to 20th Century Fox NZ, we have one double movie pass to give away (New Zealand only) to the see the new movie 'Hidden Figures' . This has been nominated for three Oscar nominations including Best Picture and was the #1 film at the US box office last weekend. It opened in cinemas here in NZ last Thursday.... This is the remarkable untold true story of three brilliant mathematicians who were the behind-the-scenes brains of America’s triumphant launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit in 1962. And yet, until now, their story has been hidden in history. This film is inspirational, emotional and highly entertaining. Check out the trailer below
To be in to win a double pass to this remarkable movie, make a comment below and we will pick a winner on Monday 6th Feb around 5pm
I have a question. If you're jobless and looking for work, where would you start? My instinct says 'online.' But the Government has just decided that if you're unemployed, but look for work on say Seek or Trademe for example, you basically will no longer count in our unemployment stats. I cannot tell you how mad this makes me!
What a great result. Seven tries and a 50-17 win against the Lions in Johannesburg. Two tries each to wings Cory Jane and Julian Savea. One apiece to Matt Proctor, Reggie Goodes, and Vince Aso. Seven out of eight from the kicking tee for Beauden Barrett. Proctor named man of the match. Thanks to Steve Haag for the photos.
Who likes gingernuts? The good news is that I've finally perfected this recipe. The bad news is you have to wait for the next book to get it. (And yes, I deserve a growling for this naughty teasery.) Anyway, very good things are happening in my kitchen at the moment and yes, another book shall be birthed! Well, it's still ages away yet. But I'm excited, and so should you be...

Four months on, these kākāpō chicks are now independent on Anchor Island/Puke Nui after the most successful breeding season since DOC and Forest & Bird started managing kākāpō 25 years ago. I was lucky enough to visit them on Anchor while they were getting ready to be soft-released. Look out for the full story in our summer issue of Forest & Bird magazine. Kimberley
