Hope everyone is having a nice Xmas day. Don't get caught up in the hype too much... it is, when all is said and done, just another day. It doesn't have to be perfect, in fact for most of us it isn't. So just chill, and let the day be what the day is.
As for me, I'm done for the year, I'm checking out now until January and heading off for some adventures with my family.
Next year is stacking up to be pretty huge. We've got a really cool new series kicking off at the beginning of the year, and a huge live television event later in the year which is going to be kind of like The Hard Stuff, but this time everyone in the country gets to be part of the series, every single night. It's going to be epic on a scale NZ telly has never seen before. All that and we'll also be launching our online parenting videos as well.
Have a safe, imperfect, very human holiday... filled with nice moments, frustrating events, trying times, and if you're very lucky, a new memory or two.
Just turned 26 & this would have to be one of my favourite songs & video clips I've done "You Never Know" We basically freestyled most of it & just had fun(besides me complaining about dancing lol) Check it out ✌️

A bit of Buddhism to start off the school holidays, from my book 'The Modern Family Survival Guide' ....
I’m not a Buddhist, but I do like a lot of things that Buddha said. One of my favourite Buddhist quotes is this:
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumoured by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
Nicely said, I think. The point being that we shouldn’t simply believe anything we’re told until we’ve thought about it for ourselves, and checked to see that it might actually be applicable to our lives, and, what’s more, that it might also be helpful. This is particularly true whenever anyone is giving you advice about parenting. I’ve done my very best to ensure that everything I say in this book both accurately reflects the science and clearly describes what I’ve learned from all the years that I’ve worked with families, but unless you go and read all the science for yourself, then you can’t be sure how well I’ve done that. I’ve also never been in your situation. No one has. You are the only person in the history of the world facing the particular challenges your family presents, and so you are the only one who can truly know whether the advice you’re given should be followed or not. Most of all you should be wary of anyone who says ‘If you don’t raise your children my way then you’ll damage them.’ Be wary of these people as you would be wary of anyone who knocks on your door at dinner time with glossy pamphlets explaining why changing power companies is just about the most important thing you have to do at that very moment. There are plenty of parenting books which take that tone, and a gazillion blogs on the internet as well. Apart from the obvious things — and by this I really do mean the obvious things, like feed them, provide adequate shelter, and don’t abuse or neglect them — nothing is ever quite that black and white. There is always room for interpretation and individual differences. Like I said, in the history of the world no one has ever faced the particular challenges that your family presents. There are loads of families facing similar issues, but none who are facing the same issues as your family. You are sailing in uncharted waters, and you always will be. As are we all. So listen to other people’s opinions and ideas by all means, but always remember that you know more than any expert about your particular family. Me included.

Eric Murray of the The Kiwi Pair was several hours into celebrating his newest gold medal when he noticed our presenter Peter Williams giving a live update for Breakfast. You won't catch us saying this about video bombers often, but if you've just won New Zealand a medal, bombs away!
