Wednesday night, the Port Hills fire burst into life. This picture captures it intensely. Living near this, being in the city at this time, was terrifying. Coupled with this sense of helplessness. The emotional toll on many people will be tough, especially after everything we've been through as a city over the years. It's a good reminder to be kind to one another and if someone needs support, be there, if you need support don't be afraid to ask. We are all in this together as a city. We know how to care.
#URGENT: The Sugarloaf transmission tower in Christchurch is now under significant threat from the Port Hills Fire. Should Newstalk ZB on 100.1 FM stop broadcasting at any stage, please re-tune to 1098 AM or use iHeartRadio to keep up to date.
