I don't really feel like being too extra or build ups - I'll just say this record took time because it needed to, I'm proud of it, and I'll be happy when you get to hear it. Thanks to everyone who kept tuning in and waiting for me, appreciate it more than you know.
*** 361kg Broadbill is a Pending Woman's World Record on 60kg *** Fish like this don't just happen, they require a lot of hard work, good energy and team work. My fishing Dad Captain Phil gave us the spot, Dave Woodman & Matt Halliday were my crew today and we all worked like clockwork to nail this 361kg Broadbill. Thank you to everyone mentioned above, I am still speechless... Nicky

For my nephew Andrew. I don’t know when it took him. It was a long time ago though. It must have slithered in through the door at night, creeping into his bedroom, a tiny shadow stitching itself to his soul without him noticing, laughing quietly ‘ha, I have another one’. At first he wouldn’t have noticed. Normal feelings, getting angry and upset. Fighting with his brother like all brothers do. As he grew into a teenager the Shadow grew bolder. Whispering into his ear while he was asleep. It manifests itself differently in different people. It turned his mind around to anger and frustration. But anger wasn’t working. The Shadow found a new way; it seeped into his heart. Here was more fertile ground, wrapping around his brain, making him angry to the ones he loved the most. He would have tried, god how he must have tried, so many times, cutting, snipping and slashing at the thread that bound him and the Shadow together. The dark shadow of Depression. Many of us may recognize that we too have the shadow. It’s attached at our heel, mostly chased away by the brightness of our lives. Depression is just so hard to see. If someone was dying of a painful disease, would you allow him to end his own life, to stop the pain? Probably. If someone had an incurable debilitating disease with no end in sight, would you allow him to end his own life, to stop the pain? Probably. Depression tricked Andrew to think he was in agony from an incurable disease. We know it wasn’t, but he thought it was eating him alive. Depression lies. It tells you that there is no way out, from whatever causes the trigger. Depression finds a disguise; it could be a broken heart, or the loss of a job, or you can’t pay the bills, or you think no-one wants you. But behind each disguise it’s the same cause. Depression is indiscriminate. You can be rich, famous, poor, funny, young, old, timid or strong. Depression cheats. It makes it impossible for you to think clearly, for you to recognize long-term consequences, or even conceive of the possibility of the long-term. Depression steals. It’s taken Andrew from us. It’s a moment that can never be understood. Depression sets us against each other. It makes us try and blame others. Depression tries to make us blame ourselves. But we know the only person that could really help Andrew, was Andrew. Even worse Depression tries to make us blame Andrew. But he had no sensible control over the Shadow, a virus that convinced him the world would be better off without him, when we know it’s not. I don’t know the answer by the way. Three times more people die worldwide from suicide than from war or terrorism. Last year in New Zealand 326 people died on the roads, but 579 people killed themselves. The Government is spending an extra $25m to help suicide prevention. But $600m on improving black spot roads. Surely that’s the wrong way around. One step we can take is to talk about Depression with confidence rather than shame. If you know someone who is struggling, reach out. And if you feel the first stitch, or the first whisper of the Shadow, seek help.
